Idris Elba, best known for his role as Stringer Bell in HBO’s The Wire, is joining the cast of the American version of The Office. Variety.com reports that Elba’s character will be a no-nonsense rival to regional manager Michael Scott (Steve Carell).
Elba will appear in six episodes of the current series.
