The Turbo Crunk family (Megasoid, Mofomatronix and Lunice) has been directly responsible for the first appearances in Montreal by the likes of Flying Lotus, edIT and Boretta (Glitch Mob), Machinedrum, Nosaj Thing, Lazer Sword and Ghosts on Tape (as well as many other up and coming / exciting new producers, rappers and soundsytems)… in turn, Turbo Crunk has become one of the key players (and one of the only parties dedicated to bringing these types of sounds) in the international multi-(un)titled genre that music journalists everywhere are in a race to define (we still just call it BEATS).

Turbo Crunk are most proud to announce our favorite current production collective as our contribution to this years Pop Montreal festival : Scotland’s Lucky Me.

“LuckyMe is a collective of beatmakers founded in Scotland. Our family includes Hudson Mohawke, FineArt, Mike Slott, Mr Copy, Rustie, Dema, Nadsroic, Jay P and Dom Sum. In various shapes we have formed groups including Surface Empire, The Blessings and The Heralds of Change. As well as art direct for choice record labels, Circulations in Tokyo and All City in Dublin, we also have a hand in the Scottish streetwear company Oddities. Every blue moon you can find us running one-off parties in tunnels, fall-out shelters, vegan bars or woods but our monthly club night is called THE BALLER$ 5OCIAL CLUB at Glasgow School of Art, where you can find LuckyMe live alongside guests from across the world”

here is their XLR8R podcast
