  The Incubator was originally created in 1993 as an alias, skillfully used to siphon 12 inch vinyl promos from major labels who regularly snubbed this young DJ's advances. It later surfaced as an Old Montreal loft party in 1997, hatched with the sole purpose of paying the rent. Eventually, the trusted moniker migrated to its next home for what would be 10 years, The Montreal Mirror, where I wrote a weekly music column under the same name. Over time, people simply started referring to me as The Incubator, which lead me to use it as a production nom de guerre. I think we're up to speed now....
