Wow. Can’t even begin to describe just how disturbingly poignant and beautiful Guillermo Del Toro‘s new film Pan’s Labyrinth is. This shit is not for kids people, but the fact that this graphically violent and truly frightening story revolves around such a young girl caught between the worlds of magic and unflinching reality, has reminded me once again of the limitless potential for exploring terrifying themes on film. Del Toro has delivered one of the most compelling and visually stunning movies I have seen in a long time, and definitely deserves to be recognized. See it in the theatre while you can.
